How to use IPTV Smarters Pro (Smarters Player Lite) on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad
Looking for IPTV Smarters Pro on Apple TV and not finding it? On Apple’s App Store the app is called Smarters Player Lite. This guide shows how to install it on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad, log in with your Xtream Codes details and get the best picture on Apple devices.
IPTV Smarters Pro vs Smarters Player Lite
IPTV Smarters Pro is a free player made by WHMCS Smarters. On Android, Firestick, Windows and Mac it appears under that name. On Apple’s App Store, for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, the same developer’s player is listed as Smarters Player Lite. It does the same core job: you add the login from your IPTV subscription, and it organises live TV, films, series and the TV guide.
Like the Android version, it has no channels of its own. Everything you watch comes from your IPTV service, so the picture quality and channel line-up are the same whichever Apple device you use. The layout on Apple TV is adapted for the Siri Remote; on iPhone and iPad it uses touch.
Search tip: type "Smarters Player Lite" in the App Store. Apps called something similar from other developers are not the same player.
Install IPTV Smarters Pro on Apple TV
You need an Apple TV with the tvOS App Store, which means Apple TV HD or any Apple TV 4K. Make sure it is connected to the internet and signed in to an Apple ID, ideally with a UK region. Then:
- Open the App Store. On the Apple TV, open the App Store and search for “Smarters Player Lite”.
- Install the app. Select Get, confirm with your Apple ID if asked, then open the app.
- Choose Xtream Codes. Accept the terms, then select Login with Xtream Codes API.
- Enter your details. Type any name, then the username, password and server URL from your IPTV subscription, including http:// and the port.
- Add the user. Select Add User and wait while live TV, films, series and the TV guide download.
- Test playback. Play one live channel and one film to confirm everything works.
Typing on Apple TV with the Siri Remote is slow, and one wrong character breaks the login. Two shortcuts help:
when the on-screen keyboard appears, a nearby iPhone usually shows a keyboard notification so you can type on the
phone instead, and you can dictate by holding the Siri button on supported remotes, though dictation is not ideal
for passwords. Check the server URL very carefully: it must look like http://server-address:8080,
with the port and no trailing slash.
Install on iPhone and iPad
The process on iPhone and iPad is the same, only quicker because you can copy and paste:

AirPlay or the Apple TV app?
If you have both an iPhone and an Apple TV, you have two ways to get IPTV onto the big screen:
- Install Smarters Player Lite on the Apple TV (recommended). The Apple TV fetches the stream directly from the internet. Your phone stays free, the picture does not depend on the Wi-Fi link between phone and TV, and the remote works as expected.
- Screen Mirroring from the iPhone or iPad. Open Control Centre, tap Screen Mirroring and choose the Apple TV. It works in a pinch, for example on an older Apple TV without an App Store, but the phone must stay awake and nearby, and quality depends on your home Wi-Fi.
Either way it is still one stream from your account. Watching on the iPhone while the Apple TV plays a different channel uses two screens, which needs the Supreme plan (two screens at once).
Tips for the best picture on Apple devices
- Use Ethernet on Apple TV 4K models with a network port, or keep the Apple TV close to the router on 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
- Know the speed you need: about 10 Mbps per screen for HD, 20 Mbps for Full HD and 30 Mbps for 4K.

- Set parental control on the iPad if children use it, as each device keeps its own settings.
- Keep the app updated through the App Store, as older versions can stop logging in after tvOS or iOS updates.
