Android is the most flexible platform for IPTV. The same IPTV Smarters Pro app runs on phones, tablets, Android TV boxes and televisions running Android TV or Google TV. The app is free and contains no channels: you add the login from your IPTV subscription and it loads your live TV, films, series and TV guide.

Set-up in 3 steps

App

Download IPTV Smarters Pro or a compatible Android IPTV app. On Google Play, search for “IPTV Smarters” or “Smarters Player Lite”.

Choose Login with Xtream Codes API and enter your username, password and server URL — or load your M3U link.

Check

Make sure the live TV, series and VOD categories load.

On a TV, the app is controlled with the remote and shows the full-screen TV layout. On a phone it switches to a touch layout, but the menus and settings are the same. Our best device for IPTV guide compares Android boxes with Fire TV and Smart TV apps.

Full set-up of IPTV Smarters Pro on Android

  1. Open Google Play. On your Android phone, tablet, box or Android TV, open the Google Play Store (on Google TV, use the search in the Apps tab).
  2. Search for the app. Search for “IPTV Smarters” or “Smarters Player Lite”, check the developer name, then select Install.
  3. Open the app. Open the app, accept the terms and, on a phone, allow any permissions it asks for.
  4. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API. Select Login with Xtream Codes API. Use the M3U or playlist option only if your provider gave you a playlist link.
  5. Enter your details. Type any name, then your username, password and server URL exactly as sent, including http:// and the port, and tap Add User.
  6. Check the categories. Wait for live TV, films, series and the TV guide to load, then play a live channel and a film.

If the app is not offered on your device, download it from the IPTV Smarters official website instead and allow your browser or file manager to install it when Android asks (Settings > Apps > Special app access > Install unknown apps on most phones; menu names vary by manufacturer). Never install it from random links. The login section of our IPTV Smarters Pro guide explains each Xtream Codes field in detail.

Tips for smoother playback on Android

Android TV boxes

  • Use an Ethernet cable where possible — it is far more stable than Wi-Fi.
  • In the app settings, try switching the player between the built-in and the native player if a channel won’t start.

Phones and tablets

  • Turn off battery optimisation for the app so streams aren’t paused in the background.
  • On mobile data, choose HD rather than 4K to save data and reduce buffering.

Plan for around 10 Mbps per screen for HD, 20 Mbps for Full HD and 30 Mbps for 4K; our internet speed guide explains how to test properly. If channels stutter, change the stream format or player as described in the recommended IPTV Smarters Pro settings, and clear the app cache under Settings > Apps > IPTV Smarters > Storage.

Other Android IPTV players

Your login is not tied to one app. On Android TV and Android boxes, TiviMate is a popular alternative with a cable-style guide, while VLC can open an M3U link for quick testing. Read TiviMate vs IPTV Smarters Pro to choose, and Xtream Codes vs M3U to see which login type each player needs. Each player counts as one screen while it is playing.

IPTV Smarters Pro on Android FAQ

Is IPTV Smarters Pro on Google Play?

Search Google Play for “IPTV Smarters” or “Smarters Player Lite”. Listings can change and vary by device, so if you cannot find it, the IPTV Smarters official website lists the current download options for Android.

How do I install the app from the official website on Android?

Download the file from the official website in your browser, then allow that browser to install apps when Android asks. The setting is usually under Settings > Apps > Special app access > Install unknown apps, though menu names vary by manufacturer.

Does IPTV Smarters Pro work on an Android TV box?

Yes. Android TV boxes and Android TV or Google TV televisions run the same app. Use the remote to type your details and connect the box with an Ethernet cable for the most stable picture.

Why does IPTV stop when I lock my Android phone?

Battery optimisation may be closing the app in the background. Open the app’s battery settings and set it to unrestricted or not optimised, and keep the screen on while you watch.

How much mobile data does IPTV use?

It depends on the quality. HD streaming needs around 10 Mbps, so watching on mobile data can use a lot of your allowance quickly. Use Wi-Fi where you can and choose HD rather than Full HD or 4K on a phone.

Should I use TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro on Android?

Both work with the same login. IPTV Smarters Pro is free and runs on phones and TVs; TiviMate is built for Android TV with a more TV-like guide and paid features. Our comparison explains which suits you.
